Thermopolis Middle School science teacher, Aimee Kay, has been awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Thermopolis Middle School Volleyball coach, Aimee Kay and high school golf coach, Brandon Deromedi earned Coach of the Year honors from the Wyoming Coaches' Association. The pair received their awards through votes from their peers, and normally, they would have received their coach's rings at a formal banquet. Austin Barral has been nominated for Junior Ham Operator of the Year for the state of Wyoming. The award is for ham operators 18 years or younger. Zieb Stetler nominated Barral and said he is “One in a Million.” Barral, 16, has a General License. He originally joined the Boy Scouts and got his radio merit badge under Stetler’s counsel and guidance. The Wyoming FFA was forced to cancel its convention due to Covid19. The convention was to take place April 15-18 in Cheyenne.
