    The Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported today that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose from 3.8% in March to 9.2% in April. In Hot Springs County, the unemployment rate jumped from 4.4% in March to 6.9% in April. In April of 2019 the unemployment rates was 3.1% in HSC.     There have been eight confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Hot Springs County, As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. Seven are considered active, one recovered, no current probable cases and two recovered probable cases. In Wyoming there are a total of 648 confirmed cases, 202 unconfirmed probable cases, with 607 recoveries. COVID-19 cases shot up by 30 over the weekend. Recoveries also saw an increase of 24.     The local Mason's Chapter called the Malta Lodge #17 is looking to restore its 115-year-old building which was built in 1905. The Lodge has done many local philanthropic charity events and they seek to do more. The effort is led by members Eric Kay and John Brooks.     The Wyoming FFA was forced to cancel its convention due to Covid19. The convention was to take place April 15-18 in Cheyenne. It was decided to hold an online celebration, the 2020 Wyoming FFA Jubilee. This way they could recognize members and advisors and their accomplishments over the 2019-2020 Wyoming FFA year.     The H♦W Youth Camp will be holding the “Diamond In the Rough Golf Tournament”, Saturday, June 6 at 1 p.m. at the Green Hills Golf Course in Worland.     Roger James Richardson, 52, passed away on January 10, 2020, in St. Louis, Mo. He was born June 21, 1967, in the U.S. Army Hospital, Fort Gordon, Ga., to Brian Lee Richardson and Eva Kathleen Shoopman. He spent his childhood in Thermopolis, Wyo., and his teen years in Springville, Utah. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age 18 and served for 26 years.     The Hot Springs County Commissioners met briefly as the County Board of Equalization in order to sign the 2020 abstract of Hot Springs County.
