The Lady Cats basketball team took a pair of losses over the weekend as they hit the road in Newcastle on Friday and Douglas on Saturday. Friday night the girls had a tough first half, struggling to take care of the basketball as Newcastle forced 22 turnovers on the night. The Bobcat boys basketball team split a pair of games last week, taking the "W" against Greybull, 54-53, but pulling the "L" when it came to Lander, 37-88. Coach Shane Corpening said, "This was an interesting game from start to finish." Greybull came into the game shooting 15-percent from the three-point line. The Lady Bobcats split a pair of games this past week, beating the Greybull Lady Buffs 55-35 on Tuesday evening, then falling 75-29 to the Lady Tigers in Lander. The girls are placed fourth in conference play in 3A Northeast. The Hot Springs County Commissioners conducted their 2021 reorganization during their January 5 meeting, electing Tom Ryan as chairman and Jack Baird as vice chairman. Now that they are finishing up with the prioritization of Phase 1A they can begin Phase 1B this week. Those 70 and older are included in Phase 1B. On Monday, Dr. Vernon Miller and Dr. Susan Bright received the first COVID-19 vaccinations in Hot Springs County. Originally, the county was to receive the Pfizer vaccine, however that was changed to the Moderna vaccine, leaving the Pfizer one for the large city hospitals across the country.
