Two Thermopolis women will share $5,000 after participating in a treasure hunt and successfully locating Wyoming's hidden Golden Ticket Key. Jessica Lippencott and Amanda Roberts are the lucky pair to win the Candyman Gold Ticket Treasure Hunt for Wyoming. Lights On Afterschool Program Coordinator Julia Scott said even though they had to change their Afterschool Celebration planned for Oct. 22 from an in person event to a virtual event due to inclement weather, it was still a fun event enjoyed by all. Mac and Marilyn Vass will be hosting a B.J. Dunbar memorial and cookie jar auction benefit that includes a pulled pork dinner. The funds raised are for the purchase of a trained epileptic seizure alert dog from Medical Mutts for Wade Milek. Wade is the son of Nate and Whitney (Ferree) Milek. He was diagnosed with epilepsy at six months old. His form of epilepsy is from a chromosome duplication and is extremely hard to treat. While small, rural farms and ranches across the country have been affected by COVID-19, the Wyoming Business Council has a plan in motion to help our local producers. An agriculture fund has been set aside, a total of $90 million, that will be available for Wyoming’s farmers and ranchers who qualify. Each operation that qualifies could receive up to $250,000.
