Richard David Slane, 84, of El Reno, Okla., passed away at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, on Friday, October 23, 2020, Richard David Slane.
He was born on September 20, 1936, in Thermopolis, Wyo., to James Chandler and Beatrice Fanny (David) Slane.
Richard was an oilfield man and he followed it all over the world, leading to numerous adventures. He was able to do and see things most people only watch in movies. He finally settled into one place upon meeting his wife Linda, the only woman who could match his wild. Anyone who was ever blessed to hear him tell his stories, can almost feel they lived it too. He is loved and will be missed by his family and friends. The impact he had on our lives is forever.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Slane; sister, Dorothy Romango (Harry); son, Chad Slane; daughters, Kerrie Slane-Sneed (Brad Simpson); grandchildren, Nicholas and Zackery Sneed of Kentucky, Ricki Koppel, Terry (Marla), Hope Wagner, and Shelby; and great-grandchildren, Harley, Jordan and Brook, all of Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clyde Slane; and numerous cousins.
