    At approximately 8 p.m. Monday night, Thermopolis Volunteer Firemen responded to a fully engulfed Las Fuentes Restaurant. The firefighters worked until late in the night extinguishing the flames that were shooting some 20-feet into the air and spreading noxious smoke throughout town.     On Friday, Dec. 4, Hot Springs County Health Officer Dr. Vernon Miller issued a statement announcing he was extending the HSC mask mandate with a few changes. The new mandate requires mask wearing for all persons 12 or older and encourages wearing of masks for children 3-11 years old. The mandate is in effect from December 5, 2020, through January 8, 2021.     Once again COVID-19 overshadowed a large portion of the Hot Springs County Commissioners meeting on December 1. Tricia McPhie, county nurse manager with Hot Springs Public Health informed the commissioners the freezer for vaccination storage has arrived.     The U.S. Senate unanimously passed legislation to rename the Thermopolis, Wyo., post office after former Postmaster Robert Brown, who passed away on September 11, 2020.     A court date has been set for Connor Fairbairn on January 4, 2021, for his charges for alleged breach of peace and telephone calls-unlawful acts. Fairbairn allegedly admitted to making a phone call and leaving a voicemail to County Health Official Dr. Vernon Miller after he requested that Hot Springs County implement a mask mandate.     Hot Springs County School District Superintendent Dustin Hunt announced Monday that classes throughout the district would resume on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Initially, the district went to Tier 3 virtual learning due to staff having to quarantine for COVID-19.     Hot Springs County has its first confirmed COVID-19 death, according to the Wyoming Department of Health. The older Hot Springs County man tested positive for the virus and died November 18 while hospitalized.     At the November 17 Town Council meeting, Mayor Chimenti said he recently had a meeting with Dr. Miller about COVID-19 and the increase in the county and Thermopolis.
