Lazy Fox Artisan Goods opens

Lazy Fox Artisan Goods recently opened their bakery to the public on Black Friday a couple of weeks ago. Ian Edmiston, the head baker and co-owner, said, “Opening day was really good. We had a lot of folks come in during the early morning on the first day. It went really well. There were a few stops and starts of trying to get stuff out on time, trying to get it out for everybody. But I think overall it went really well. We sold out of danishes really early.”

They served danishes, bear claws, white and wheat loaf bread, hoagie buns, an assortment of cookies, which include gluten-free peanut butter and orange baked cookies.

Edmiston said regarding customer feedback, “So far everything has been really good. Folks are really enjoying what we are selling. We’ve had repeat customers already in the first week. I would say it’s pretty good.”

He added, “We carry Storyteller coffee, Jackrabbit Java. From One Eyed Buffalo, we just started putting out sourdough today. OEB gave us the whole grain to grind, to get that started with. They gifted us a couple pounds of grain and we have made our sourdough starter here.”

Lazy Fox Artisan Goods are open Thursday thru Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Originally they planned to be open in the evenings but Edmiston said, “Trying to get all the fresh-baked products out in the morning I find myself coming in about 4:30 or 4 a.m. Trying to be here from 4 a.m. until 6 p.m. was a bit too much. We tried it but in order to provide freshly baked items every day we need to be in very early and that took precedence over trying to be open late.”
