    The Hot Springs County Travel and Tourism board met for its December meeting last week in the form of a public hearing per its compliance requirements according to law. Treasurer Matt Hughes presented the financial report ending in November 2020. They were at the time of the meeting 54.4% successful in dispersing their CARES Act funding and by that next Friday will have fully spent the CARES Act money according to the requirements of funding.     On Friday, Dec. 4, Hot Springs County Health Officer Dr. Vernon Miller issued a statement announcing he was extending the HSC mask mandate with a few changes. The new mandate requires mask wearing for all persons 12 or older and encourages wearing of masks for children 3-11 years old. The mandate is in effect from December 5, 2020, through January 8, 2021.     Hot Springs County School District Superintendent Dustin Hunt announced Monday that classes throughout the district would resume on Wednesday, Dec. 2. The older Hot Springs County man tested positive for the virus and died November 18 while hospitalized.
