At the August 18 Hot Springs County Commissioners board meeting held at the Annex building, the commissioners voted and passed the approval of a corrective quit claim deed for Alfred T. Graham and Ada F. Graham. The original property document was recorded in 1986 that contained some errors. It took a very long time for the issue to be resolved. Certified land surveyor R. L. The Town of Thermopolis is continuing its water project and now work begins on Richard Street between 6th and 7th Streets. It is between Mack's Market and Family Dollar/Dollar Tree, Merlin's Hideout and Kirby Creek Tannery. The water pipes underneath the surface need to be replaced due to age and the potential for leaking, which makes the soil to be very loose and unstable. In the race for Hot Springs County Commissioner, incumbent Tom Ryan was the top vote earner with 935 votes. In the next couple of weeks, work will begin on a new native plant garden around the north entrance to the Hot Springs County Courthouse. Last October, Les Culliton, County Maintenance Supervisor, approached the Red Dirt Master Gardeners to discuss ideas to improve landscaping around the main courthouse entrance.
