The United States Postal Service held a dedication ceremony naming the Thermopolis Post Office, the Robert L. Brown Post Office Building. The event, held last Friday, was attended by members of Brown's family, USPS representatives and Wyoming dignitaries. The Alliance for Historic Wyoming and the Arapaho Ranch Field Station hosted a rare tour of the property on Saturday, Aug. 27. The tour was previously announced in the IR. Participants in the tour were limited and spaces filled up fast. David Souders has opened Hot Springs Thrift located at 1002 Shoshoni. The shop contains a variety of clothes, shoes, small pieces of furniture, videos, etc. Souders moved to Thermopolis in February 2020 just after he shut down a 1950s-style restaurant he owned in New Castle, Colorado, just before Covid occurred. The Town of Thermopolis is continuing its water project and now work begins on Richard Street between 6th and 7th Streets. It is between Mack's Market and Family Dollar/Dollar Tree, Merlin's Hideout and Kirby Creek Tannery.
