    Remington Ferree presents the FFA Creed during the regional competition Tuesday afternoon. Ferree tied for second in Districts, and placed fifth in Regionals. Also competing in this past week's FFA Speech events were Jeffery VanAntwerp, who places third in Extemporaneous in Districts and fourth in Regionals, and Chase White, who placed third in Prepared at Districts and fifth at Regionals. Hunter Bartholomew and Oakley Bowman also competed at Districts, but just missed moving on to Regionals....

    The Bobcat Speech and Debate team will be making their 16th appearance at the National Tournament in June after Tyler Kay qualified in humor over the weekend in Rock Springs. Overall, the team had a remarkable National Qualifying tournament with several members moving through to semi-finals before finally being eliminated. Katie Burrows and Ashley Brawley finished their season of duet by moving into semis along with Hannah Hu and Breeze Petty, both in oratory.     During the regular meeting of Hot Springs Travel and Tourism, Director Amanda Moeller said Thermopolis will be home to the Wyoming Office of Tourism board meeting on Tuesday, April 17 at 8 a.m. She expects many of the members to stick around and attend the Travel and Tourism Board meeting, which is the same day.     The Senior Class Parent Committee will host a Bingo fundraiser on Sunday, April 8 from 6-8 p.m. at Thermopolis Middle School. Two initial Bingo cards and two meals will be available for $25, with a menu of walking tacos, and additional cards are $5 each.     Last week, students and staff members at Hot Springs County High School challenged themselves through the Badcat Obstacle Course Race. The course took them through and around the school, as well as the Ralph Witters Elementary (RWE) playground and into Hot Springs State Park.     The Bobcat Speech and Debate Team had a mixed bag of success last weekend at the Worlando Beach tournament in Worland, bringing home fifth place in 3A. While seven of the team members made the cut for semi-finals, all but one, Katie Burrows, didn’t garner the scores to take them to finals. Burrows, who went into semis ranked fourth, came out of finals with a fourth place finish, bringing home the only award for the team.     Last Saturday, the Thermopolis Middle School MathCounts team of eighth-graders Josiah Butler and Jacob Randall and seventh-graders Owen McCumber and Lexi Overfield competed at the state competition.
