Members of the Hospital Auxiliary are holding a silent auction Thursday, Dec. 3 in the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital lobby from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Up for auction will be several baskets full of a variety of items. A large number of Vesper Chapter members attended the annual Grand Chapter Session in Casper in August. Tom Smith completed his year as the Worthy Grand Patron of Wyoming. The Grand Chapter awarded fourteen $500 scholarships to Wyoming students who plan to pursue professions in religious fields. Vesper members also hosted the annual Eastern Star golf day in July, which raised over $600 for charity. The Hot Springs County High School’s Bobcat speech and debate team kicked off their season Nov. 2. While the team will not be traveling to tournaments until January, coach Cindy Glasson said the next few weeks will be spent choosing pieces for interpretation and writing cases for debaters. Sign ups for the 2015 Community Christmas Baskets are going on now at the H.O.P.E. Agency at 426 Big Horn Street. Last year, the program provided more than 100 boxes of food to families in need throughout the community with the help of volunteers, organizations and businesses in Thermopolis.
