    It was another successful weekend for the Bobcat Speech and Debate Team – one for the books as they brought home first place at the Worland “Worlando Beach” tournament. The team not only secured first place in 1A/2A, but placed second overall behind 3A Riverton.     In the main office at Thermopolis Middle School there are four Ball brand jars filling with coins and bills, an appropriate label as the money inside will go toward the purchase of soccer balls for Uganda.     It was a busy weekend for Bobcat Robotics teams No. 4273, Aluminati, and No. 7238, Fistful of Axles, both of which competed at the Wyoming State Tournament in Casper. Following the qualifying matches, Fistful of Axles placed 12th and Aluminati placed 22nd. However, following qualifying rounds the top teams pick other teams for their alliances and team HCVB selected Aluminati, with the alliance finishing in third place.   • Museum fundraising still going strong

    The Hot Springs County Pioneer Association began a funding drive last October to raise money for the purchase of the property adjoining the Hot Springs County Museum on the west side. To date, those efforts have realized more than half of the association’s $105,000 goal, collected and in the bank. The association’s contract for deed has been extended until the end of March, so the initiative continues.     Business Continuity Planning is an eight-hour, instructor-led course designed to teach executive-level managers and small business owners how to develop a comprehensive and effective business continuity program.     The Thermopolis Bobcat Speech and Debate team had a stellar weekend at the Jackson Invitational, coming home with first place in 1A-2A. Along with their first place trophy, the team brought home eight individual awards. Junior Hannah Hu took first place with her original oratory as well as fourth place with her informative.
