    The Thermopolis Town Council met for its first regular monthly meeting on November. Brad Becerra, VFW Post Commander, appeared to make a veterans outreach presentation for the council. Becerra prefaced his presentation by addressing concerns he had regarding how the town communicates actions taken by the town council to town residents. He stated that he felt the town had not adequately advised residents regarding new stop signs that had been installed on Arapahoe Street and also regarding the allowance of fireworks at home football games....

    The Hot Springs County Commissioners met on November 4 for their first regular meeting for the month. Following up on a request made at the board’s October 21 meeting that the county reimburse him for attorney fees incurred with regard to the on-going Governor’s investigation, commissioner Aguiar took issue with advice which had recently been provided by county attorney Jill Logan.   • Bids accepted through December 8 for bison

    Bids for the acquisition of 18 animals from the state bison herd are invited at the Hot Springs State Park Headquarters Office in Thermopolis until 4 p.m. on December 8. The available bison include five 2025 heifer calves, ten 2024 bull calves, two 2024 yearling heifers and one 2006 cow. All the animals have received proper vaccinations.     Florence Marie “Toots” Daugherty, of Thermopolis, Wyoming, died on November 6, 2025. She was an amazing 104 years old. Born Florence Marie Walker on August 23, 1921, in Lucerne, Wyoming, she was the third of six children born to Jesse and Grace Walker. Toots grew up in Lucerne and Thermopolis. She was united in marriage to Russell Elmer Daugherty and they enjoyed 46 wonderful years together before he predeceased her.
