    The Hot Springs County Commissioners covered a lot of ground during their meeting Monday at the county annex. Applications had been requested recently to fill an unexpired term on the Hot Springs County Library board. In all, five applications from interested citizens were received by the county clerk.     Results for the Hot Springs County Junior Livestock Auction and Judge's Choice Bake Sale are in and fair participants, buyers, and attendees should be proud. The auction was Friday in the Multi-Purpose Building at the fairgrounds at 7 p.m. with a Pre-sale Buyer's Dinner that started the evening at 6 p.m. The auction showcased a total of 58 livestock and eight judge's choice bake sale entries and brought in $133,137 dollars.   • Reward offered for information on stray horse killings in HSC

    The Bureau of Land Management is investigating the killing of 21 stray horses on public and state land northwest of Thermopolis, adjacent to Little Sand Draw. The horses were found on the afternoon of July 29, 2015, and were killed at some point during the last two weeks of July. The horses were not federally protected wild horses but rather domestic horses that had been abandoned a few years ago. The BLM is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or people involved...

Wildman serves as the 2014-2016 National District Council Member #12 representing Wyoming and North Dakota for the Ladies Auxiliary but has been involved with the VFW for at least 20 years.     Ricky Allen Heinze, 55, of Casper, Wyo., died after a long downhill battle with cancer on Friday, July 31, 2015. Rick was born on January 22, 1960, to Alex Allen and Janet A. Heinze in Thermopolis, Wyo. The family later moved to Miles City, Mont., where Rick attended school graduating from Custer County High School in May 1978. Rick entered the Air Force out of school and was stationed at Edward Air Force Base in California. While at Edwards he met and married Julie Dubois. To this union son, Joshua was born in 1980. He attended school in Marysville, Pa. and married Dorothy Irene Silvers on June 22, 1979, in Edmond, Okla.     The final valuation for Hot Springs County for tax year 2015 is $230,839,867 according to Hot Springs County Assessor Shelley Deromedi. With that valuation in mind, the Cemetery District, with a mill levy of 1.754, will receive taxes in the amount of $404,893.
