At the May 2 Hot Springs County Commissioners board meeting, Ardurra’s Brian Clarkson and Maddie Ross gave their Geographic Information Systems (GIS) report via speakerphone. Residents came out in force last Wednesday to welcome home Thermopolis Police Sergeant Mike Mascorro who was injured in a shooting on April 28. Mascorro was life-flighted to Casper after emergency surgery at Hot Springs Health. Mascorro is glad to be home and in good spirits as he navigates the healing process. The Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame (WCHF) has selected 25 inductees for the Class of 2023. The WCHF State Board of Directors voted on the nominees from across the state during its annual meeting April 29. Jeanie Love passed away May 3, 2023, in Thermopolis at the age of 88. Valerie Jean was born on November 10, 1934, in Thermopolis, Wyo., to Mildred (Nincehelser) and Alvie Doak. Harry Estes adopted Jeanie and her sister Dorita in 1940 after marrying Mildred. Jeanie married Duard Lee Love December 21, 1952, at the Worland Episcopal Church. Frank Allanson Bien, Jr, 69, died May 1, 2023, at his residence in Thermopolis after a year-long journey with cancer. Born May 7, 1953, in Superior, Wis., he was one of three children of Frank and Edna (Carlson) Bien, Sr. A carpenter/flooring installer for most of his life, he was in much demand as a craftsman in California, Nevada and later, Wyoming. Life-long resident, Harry Royal "Mick" White, 81, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at his residence in Thermopolis surrounded by his family. One of ten children, he was born August 29, 1941, in Thermopolis, Wyo., the son of Jay Bob and Mary (Peoples) White. Hot Springs County High School Bobcat Track and Field hosted their home invite last Friday with the Lady Cats coming in 9th out of 22 teams and the Bobcats coming in 8th out of 20 teams.
