On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We print the names of all people upon their initial arrest.

Highway Patrol

Tuesday, May 2

Time Unknown: Hunter Clark James Peffers, 24, from Fromberg, Mont., was placed in the Detention Center as a Hold for Other Agency with a warrant from Montana.

Friday, May 5

Time Unknown: Jerry Scott Madden, 61, from Weinert, Texas, was placed in the Detention Center for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana.

Monday, May 1

12:46 a.m. Report of a cow on the highway. One cow was located and pushed into a pasture. 

7:22 p.m. A deputy assisted with a juvenile problem.

Tuesday, May 2

5:50 a.m. Report of a civil dispute. A deputy spoke with a property owner.

11:56 a.m. Agency assist for the Highway Patrol.

2:30 p.m. A deputy responded to East River Road for a 911 call with an open line.

Wednesday, May 3

3:25 p.m. Report of vandalism to county-owned property on East River Road.

Friday, May 5

11:46 a.m. A transient female was given a courtesy ride from a deputy to Shoshoni.

3:40 p.m. A deputy responded to mile marker 142 on Highway 20 North for a report of a cow out.

5:16 p.m. A Deputy responded to a residence where the resident believed someone had been in their house. 

7:22 p.m. A Deputy responded to a report of a vehicle parked at the complainant’s gate for an extended period of time. 

Saturday, May 6

2:24 a.m. Agency assist for the Police Department.

9:56 a.m. Report of an animal problem involving dogs harassing horses. 

1:55 p.m. Report of a dog that attacked and killed multiple chickens.

2:40 p.m. Welfare check for an elderly male. There were no concerns found during the check. 

4:59 p.m. Report of a cow out on the highway. The cow was put back in without incident. WYDOT was made aware of a fence issue to repair.

6:48 p.m. Report of an animal problem on mile marker 142 on Highway 20 with a cow in the road.

Sunday, May 7

7:59 a.m. A Deputy responded to a report of a dog harassing horses.

12:32 p.m. A Deputy responded to a 911 hang up and found that it was an accidental call.

1:25 p.m. Agency assist for the Police Department.

Monday, May 1

7:20 p.m. Officers responded to a juvenile problem involving a juvenile female.

Tuesday, May 2

9:18 a.m. Report of graffiti in the White Sulfur Springs area with obscene images in orange and black paint. “Worland” was painted on the surface. 

9:04 p.m. Officer responded to the 400 block of Arapahoe St. to speak with a female victim about a report of harassment from two adult suspects that occurred near a gas station. The suspect driver cut off the victim and honked at her. 

Wednesday, May 3

8:39 a.m. Two juveniles were cited for possession of tobacco.

10:26 a.m. A male came to the Law Enforcement Center to report damage to his vehicle from a hit and run. The suspects are unknown. 

7:22 p.m. An Officer responded to 500 block of Broadway St., for the report of a hit-and-run. A male from Colorado was later located and cited for leaving the scene of an accident. 

Thursday, May 4

12:20 p.m. A juvenile male driver from East Thermopolis was warned again for improper tint, no mufflers, and windshield. 

12:20 p.m. Report of a property watch in the area of 10th Street and Arapahoe.

3:14 p.m. A juvenile female was trespassed from 1340 Canyon Hills Road.

4:29 p.m. Report of a traffic accident in the 600 block of Broadway Street involving a vehicle from Colorado and a local resident. There were no citations given.

6:32 p.m. Two dogs were reported to be at large in the 1100 block of Broadway Street. One dog was captured and transported to the vet clinic, while the other dog was uncatchable. 

Friday, May 5

7:48 a.m. A dog was picked up and returned to the owner.

9:02 a.m. A black lab dog was picked up in the 100 block of East Park and taken to Vet Clinic 

9:53 a.m. Two dogs were reported to be running at large in the intersection of 11th Street and Broadway Street. They were unable to be caught.

8:18 p.m. A female subject reported one narcotic was missing from a patient’s medication cart in the 1200 block of Canyon Hills.

Sunday, May 7

12:03 p.m. Carolann Corbin, 50, was arrested for allegedly three shoplifting thefts, interference with a peace officer, littering, and violation of probation conditions after being reported as hallucinating at a local food establishment. 

1:23 p.m. Report of an alleged physical altercation in the 300 block of Arapahoe Street. As a result, Kwintin Todd Asay, 52, was arrested for alleged domestic assault and violation of probation, and a female was cited for alleged domestic assault. 

Civil Court

Carolann Corbin, domestic assault, first offense, 30 days jail, 18 days suspended, six months supervised probation, fees and fines $70 and simple assault, 30 days jail, 18 days suspended, six months supervised probation, fees and fines $70.

Michael L. Miller, reckless endangering, 90 days jail, 70 days suspended, fees and fines $220.
