    The Hot Springs County High School Golf Team played in the Terry Berg Invitational at the Lander Golf Course last week. The Bobcats and Lady Cats were pitted against teams from nine area schools, including: Cody, Evanston, Jackson, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton and Worland. The Lander Golf Course sets at an elevation of 5,600 feet, making it one of the highest courses in the State of Wyoming. The course is open to the public, and covers eighteen holes.     The Hot Springs County High School Bobcats have begun to formulate their game plan for the 2024 season. After finishing the 2A West season last year in 5th place – going 2 and 4 in the division, and 2 and 7 overall – the Cats are looking to capitalize on the knowledge and experience garnered in last season’s campaign.     The Bobcat golf team was in Powell last week to compete at the Powell Invitational. Ten teams were in attendance, including teams from some very accomplished Class 3A and 4A schools, including last year's Class 4A girls champion team from Sheridan.     The Bobcat cross country team began preparations for a new season this week, with two-a-day practices commencing on Monday. Head Coach, Stephanie Metz, and Assistant Coach, Kaitlyn Dudrick, have the runners working hard to prepare for the upcoming season. The team’s first meet will be in Cheyenne on August 30 for the state pre-view event.     The 2A High School Fall Golf Season kicks off this week for the Bobcat golf teams. Practices began on Monday and the first tournament of the season will be played in Powell on August 14-15. The season will last a short six weeks, and will conclude with the State Championship Tournament at the Kendrick Golf Course, in Sheridan.     In-coming Hot Springs County High School sophomore, Cannon Boren, was in competition last week at the U.S. Marine Corp Junior and U16 Nationals, which are held annually at Fargo, North Dakota. The tournament is the largest wrestling tournament in the world, and serves as the pinnacle for National Championships in Freestyle and Greco Wrestling in the United States.     The Hot Springs County High School Golf Team traveled to Sheridan Friday, April 12 to play in the Tongue River Spring Invitational. The event was held at the Kendrick Golf Course, which will host the State Tournament this fall. Kendrick is a par 72, 18-hole public course that is fairly unique in its layout, having few bunkers and not a lot of trees.
