Track All-state honors awarded

Last season, the Hot Springs County High School Bobcat track team made great strides in their quest for a State Championship. With each passing event, one could see, clearly, the progress being made by all of the student athletes.

In May, the team brought home a Regional Championship – the first for a Thermopolis team in many years. With a boost from their Regional Championship, the Bobcats went into the State Championships with a great deal of confidence, and managed a second place finish - behind a heavily favored team from Big Horn.

Last week, the Wyoming Coaches Association announced their awards for All-State designation in track and field. The awards are given to each student athlete who finished in the top two of an individual event, or as part of a first place relay team, at the State Championships held in Casper last month.

Eight members of the Bobcat track team were selected to receive this prestigious award for the first time: Logan Farrell, Ryan Arends, Anthony Cheatham, Logan Dafoe, Jacob Elder, Jadeth Elder, Cole Keller and David King.

A good deal of time, effort, and plain hard work went into the progress the Bobcats track team made this year. Each of these student athletes contributed mightily to their teams success, and each is very much deserving of the title of All-State. Congratulations to all of them.
