Lady Cats win first home game
December 26, 2019
It was a great first home game for the Lady Bobcat basketball team as they took down Burlington on Saturday, 46-37.
“The team played excellent defense and took down a scrappy Burlington team,” head coach Matt McPhie said.
The girls struggled a bit shooting the ball, but relied on their defense and a lot of effort to seal the victory.
The Lady Cats forced 41 turnovers throughout the match, which led to key baskets on the offensive end of the ball.
Ashley McPhie led the team in scoring with 19 points while McKenna Bomengen tipped in eight, followed by Kaylee DeVries with a solid seven points.
Bomengen had a productive day collecting eight steals and 10 rebounds as well.
In her varsity debut, Sadie Burr had seven steals and DeVries added five steals to her stats as well.
McPhie pulled seven rebounds and three assists, too.
The team has a 4-0 record going into Christmas break.
“We as a staff are happy with the direction we are going and look forward to steady growth as the season progresses,” coach McPhie said.
The Lady Cats will be on the road January 3 as the take on the Lady Warriors in Worland.
