    The Hot Springs County High School Bobcat wrestling team competed in the Lander Invite Tournament last weekend - placing two grapplers, with another three of their teammates finishing just one win away from placing. In the team standings, Thermopolis placed 11th out of 27 teams competing, and finished in the top three among the 2A teams appearing at the event.     The Hot Springs County High School Lady Cat wrestlers traveled to Lander last weekend for the two-day Lander Invite Tournament. Twenty-six teams from around the State of Wyoming were joined by the Thunder Ridge team from the State of Idaho. Cody won the team competition with 216.5 team points. With a team of just four competitors, the Lady Cats put three into the semi-final round and finished the event with two individual championships.     Thermopolis Wrestling Club competed at the Windy City Winter War held in Casper last weekend in a three-style tournament offering folkstyle, freestyle and greco divisions. Thermopolis brought home third place in the team standings with 738.5 points, behind two teams from Casper. Windy City Wrestling Club was first with 774.5 points and Casper Wrestling Club was second with 751.5 points out of the 30 teams in attendance.     Last weekend, the #5 ranked Hot Springs County High School Lady Cats basketball team faced off with some talented teams from Class 3A, and met up with the #1 ranked Class 1A team from Burlington at the Big Horn Basin Classic.     The Hot Springs County High School Bobcat wrestling team was in Shoshoni last weekend to compete at the Clash at the Crossroads Tournament. Finishing in third place in the team standings (out of fourteen teams) the Cats had a productive weekend, bringing home two individual championships and placing six of the team’s seven varsity wrestlers.     Thermopolis Wrestling Club team members won the Rocky Mountain Nationals Wild West Championships Tournament last weekend in Casper with a total of 310 points. Coming in second in the team standings was Black Fox Wrestling Academy from Colorado with 296 and Ridge Wrestling Club also from Colorado with 272.5 points placed third.     After dividing the team to compete at three different locations the week before, the Hot Springs County High School Lady Cats wrestling team was reunified last weekend for the Clash at the Crossroads Tournament in Shoshoni, where all members of the team were able to place in the event.     Several Thermopolis youth wrestlers participated in the HAVOC in the Heights tournament held last Sunday in Billings, Mont., giving them the opportunity to see new competition in our neighbors to the north.     Fresh off their holiday break, the #5 ranked Hot Springs County High School Lady Cats basketball team were back in action last week meeting up with the four top-ranked Class 2A teams in the state. On Thursday, January 8, the team traveled to Wyoming Indian to take on the #4 ranked Lady Chiefs.     After a surely appreciated holiday break, the Bobcats and Lady Cats of Hot Springs County High School will be back in action this week. In the early season the two teams have each played a number of Class 3A and 4A teams, however, 2A competition has been slim.     Several members of the Thermopolis Wrestling Club (TWC) traveled with Team Wyoming to Utah last weekend to compete first at the Christmas Clash Duals in Farmington and then at the Salt Lake Slam. The Christmas Clash was held at the Western Sports Park in Farmington, Utah, on January 2. It is one of the largest youth dual wrestling events in the Mountain West and features boys and girls wrestlers from both elementary and middle school levels.     In the last week before the holiday break, the Thermopolis Bobcats had a dual in Greybull and then traveled to Worland to participate at the Battle in the Big Horns Tournament.
