Even numbered years the Legislature concentrates on the state’s budget issues, while during odd numbered years they convene for the General Session, attending to bills not associated with budget concerns. Hot Springs County High School science teacher, robotics guru and student council advisor, London Jenks, was recently awarded the Jeannie Tinnin Advisor Award at the Wyoming Association of Student Councils Conference in Sheridan. Jenks was nominated for the award by the high school’s student council under the direction of student body president Dani Jo Pebbles. The way the Student Intervention Team (SIT) works at Ralph Witters Elementary has changed a bit and they presented those changes and what they’ve meant to students at the November school board meeting. According to principal Catelyn Deromedi, they currently have about 45 students in the intervention program, none of which are associated with special education or regular, basic classroom interventions.
