    Preparation and planning for the possibility of an extended power outage was the focus of a recent workshop held by Hot Springs County LEPC. Emergency Management Coordinator Bill Gordon expressed concern several months ago about the dangers the county could face should a large spread power outage occur on a nationwide basis. At the time, Gordon indicated an outage would be complicated, enormous and daunting, but a plan needed to be created in order to keep the county’s citizens protected.     State Representative John Winter introduced a bill for consideration by the Wyoming Legislature that would allow for compensation to ranchers outside of game hunting zones due to loss or damage by gray wolves.     Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for both the Star Plunge and Days Inn in Hot Springs State Park have been given a 45-day extension.     The Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department held their annual elections Tuesday night with Mark Collins retaining his position as fire chief. Assisting him will be Bryce Gilbert, assistant chief, captain Brandon Blakesley, first lieutenant Dale Andreen, second lieutenant Jay Erk, treasurer Forest Coleman-Weisz and secretary London Jenks.     Kenneth R. Rogers Jr. was sentenced to 4-8 years with the Wyoming Department of Corrections after entering an Alford plea to one count of Sexual Assault of a Minor in the Third Degree, a felony. District Court Judge Bobbi Overfield accepted the plea agreement as outlined by a Plea Change Hearing Order. The state dismissed four other original charges.
