The Hot Springs County School District Board of Trustees approved a preliminary budget for fiscal year 2021 to 2022, after the district’s business manager, Chauncy Johnson, introduced it on April 20. Deputy Travis Bench of Riverton and his dog Ricky searched around vehicles in Hot Springs County High School parking lot during a multi-municipality operation. According to Thermopolis Police Chief Julie Mathews, the dogs did hit on odors on certain vehicles but law enforcement did not find any actual drug materials. At the April 21 Hot Springs County Travel and Tourism Board meeting, Treasurer Matt Hughes presented the financial report. Hughes said for March the lodging tax receipts are $8,288.66 with interest income at $8.64, totalling to $8,297.30. The month was down from last year, but up 10% from the historical average.
