The Thermopolis Middle School (TMS) started a student section on November 23, 2021. TMS Counselor Lacey Shaffer came up with the idea to spread Bobcat Culture in the school. Lacey has started a club that invites students to cheer on their local teams. A student section is used as a place in the stands for local kids or teens that go to our schools. Unemployment falls as people leave work force CHEYENNE (WNE) — The Research and Planning Section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported Monday that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped from 4.5% in September to 4.1% in October. The recent decreases in Wyoming’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate have been largely the result of unemployed individuals leaving the labor force. At the November 16 Thermopolis Town Council meeting they performed a brief amount of actions. The council voted to approve that on December 24 and 27 the Town Hall will be closed. The council also approved a catering permit for Shorty’s at the Ducks Unlimited event on December 4. Additionally, the Mayor asked if the council would fund a bonus of $300 for each town employee. Around 40 items, including painted chairs and decorated trees, went up for silent auction at the People for People Backback Program benefit. The People for People program and other local volunteers will be preparing Thanksgiving meals this year. However, they will not have eat-in meals at Holy Trinity Church. They will be preparing the food, packaging and delivering the meals to their People for People families and anyone that needs a meal.
