    The 30th annual Hot Spot Car Rally is coming to Hot Springs State Park (HSSP) this weekend. There will be a cruise-in held on Friday, June 16 evening from 4-7 p.m. Participants are asked to meet at the Kiwanis Shelter in HSSP. The Poker Run will also be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. It starts at the Kiwanis Shelter in Hot Springs State Park and ends at the Senior Center.     Legend Rock Petroglyph Site, located approximately 25 miles outside of Thermopolis, is one of the many unique attractions that makes Thermopolis so special. The Friends of Hot Springs State Park and Legend Rock is looking for volunteers to help maintain, support, and promote Legend Rock during the summer.     At the June 8 Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce board meeting, during old business the board held a discussion about their budget and about increasing CEO Meri Ann Dorman’s salary. Board member Scott Alwin said he noticed there was no increase in Dorman’s salary from when they previously tabled the budget. Dorman responded with, “I personally do not feel comfortable increasing it on our balance sheet without knowing where the money’s coming from.     Thermopolis's Porshia Birdsley won Second Place in the Nation at the 2023 United States Strongman Nationals in Dallas, Texas on June 3. Birdsley competed against 15 women in her class of 149 to 165 pounds. These athletes are the top in the nation and their scores were based on an accumulation of total points from each of the events.
