    The Gift of the Waters Pageant committee recently announced they have received $1,900 in new donations this past month with Pageant Days Weekend just 10 short weeks away, bringing them very close to the funds needed to put on this year’s historical re-enactment.     Jacky Wright, native of England, held a tea at her residence celebrating the birth of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.     The Hot Springs County Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2281 has planned a series of services to commemorate service men and women – past and present – for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 25. The day’s activities will begin at 11 a.m. with a service at Monument Hill Cemetery.     The inaugural Red Nose Day in the United States will be Thursday, May 21 and Days Inn Thermopolis will be participating to help feed the hungry. Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign thrown by the nonprofit organization Comic Relief. In the UK, Red Nose Day has been going for 30 years. According to general manager Mary Mills, Days Inn will be donating 10 percent of restaurant proceeds May 21 to the local People for People Backpack Program.     Local runners will compete with Hot Spring County’s largest residents during the Running with the Buffalo event Saturday, May 30 beginning at 7:30 a.m. The race will start on the street outside the TePee Pool and runners will trek through the buffalo pasture and back towards the start. There will be both a 4K run/walk and an 8K run, making it possible for people of all ages to participate. Pre-registration for the event costs $15 dollars and comes with a T-shirt.     Pheasants Forever will be having their annual banquet Saturday, May 30 starting at 5 p.m. in the Hot Springs County Fair Building.     The high school band and choir returned from their Music in the Park competition in Denver this week with a second place finish for the band and a fourth place finish for the choir. But music director Dustin Olsen said the groups were much closer to winning then they appeared. In each category teams are scored points from two judges. Each judge can give a team up to 95 points, for a total of 190 possible points.
