Hot Springs County’s senior citizens won’t have to miss out on the fun of the “ball drop” with the Ring in the Noon Year celebration at the Senior Citizens Center. On Friday, Dec. 30 from 11:30 a.m. til 1 p.m., they will be having their own New Year’s celebration by ringing in the “Noon Year” during lunch, complete with their own ball drop, just like New York City. The meal that day is a center favorite, fried chicken, and sparkling cider will also be served for a New Year’s toast....

Families who signed up for Community Christmas Baskets can pick them up on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hall at 642 Arapahoe.
