    The Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has elected new officers for 2017. Serving are President Toni Andreen, Vice President Kim Black, Treasurer Mary Nutter-Falgoust and Secretary Ellen Mortimore. The Auxiliary raises funds through bake sales — held the third Thursday of every month except January, July, August and December — silent auction and the hospital gift shop.     Seven students from Thermopolis Middle School competed in the Challenge of the Books in Worland last week, coming home with a third place finish. Challenge of the Books is a contest for middle school students who love to read. A list of 12 books, which come from the Soaring Eagle and Indian Paintbrush nominee lists, are given to the children to read each August.     The Bobcat Speech and Debate Team traveled to Kelly Walsh High School in Casper last weekend for their first tournament of the season.     The Bighorn Bowhunters plan to kick off 2017 with their annual New Year’s Shoot Sunday at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. Jan. 8 The event features two competitions with the 450 Vegas Shoot in the fair building and the 28 Target 3D Shoot in the multi-purpose building.
