Thursday, May 11 is sure to be a wonderful evening of entertainment in Hot Springs State Park as the Hot Springs County High School bands and choirs will be presenting their POPS Concert at the pavilion. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. and feature a variety of music from Le Miserable and Phantom of the Opera to Disney classics and motion picture themes. An annual tradition in Thermopolis is about to be held, the PEO Tour of Tables Mother’s Day Luncheon. The event will be May 13 in the Thermopolis Middle School commons with tables decorated in a variety of themes. There will be door prizes and entertainment as well as a raffle for themed baskets. The 34th annual May “WYO” Quarter Horse Ranch Sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. The sale is set to begin at 1 p.m., with a performance preview at 9 a.m. Before the sale, on Friday, May 19, the fairgrounds will be home to the “Parade of Geldings,” beginning at 7 p.m. Each gelding will be led around the ring while a video of each horse plays. This spring, fourth graders at Ralph Witters Elementary School were once again fortunate to experience two wonderful trips in Yellowstone National Park. Each trip consisted of a four-day, three-night stay in Yellowstone's Lamar Valley at the Buffalo Ranch, the weekends of April 14-17 and April 21-24. Thursday night saw the annual Thermopolis FFA Banquet, with FFA Alumni providing a milk can dinner at the Hot Springs County agricultural building. Following the meal, awards were presented in the school auditorium. Community, chapter, and student development are all very important parts of Thermopolis FFA activities and programs.
