The Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous Ranch Rodeo was held Saturday night at the fairgrounds. Taking first was the Lundgren Land & Cattle Company, with High Mountain coming in second followed by Durbin Creek Ranch in third. The annual Grass Creek Reunion will be held Saturday, July 18 at 11 a.m. at the Washakie Shelter, near the Pavilion, in Hot Springs State Park. All folks who have called the area home are invited. Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous Committee will hold a Ranch Rodeo on July 18 at 6 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. The events will be team doctoring, wild cow milking, branding, ribbon roping, trailer loading, hide racing and wild cow riding. Five man teams must include a person over 60 years, a female or kid under 14 years. The cost is $250 per team. You can bid on your favorite team during the calcutta prior to the rodeo. 4-H and FFA youth had the opportunity to have their fair beef project's hooves trimmed on Wednesday at the fairgrounds. Kevin Nicol comes to Thermopolis every year to trim hooves. His hydraulic chute gently tilts the beef sideways so he can grind the hooves down. Trimming show calf hooves is an important part of animal care. Proper care will ensure a healthy and sound animal at fair....

Wyoming Hot Springs State Park (HSSP) has volunteers from all over the country who come with their RVs and help with the maintenance of the park. All of them feel extremely fortunate to spend their retirement years collaborating in gardening and upkeep. The relationships of the volunteers have become quite close and collegial. For the volunteers that come to HSSP, their work is done out of the goodness of their hearts and for an RV spot. They agree to spend 20 hours per week helping out. The...
