At Tuesday evening’s Thermopolis Town Council meeting, Byron Williams brought forth concerns regarding animals in the Grandview trailer park; Williams recently became an assistant manager for the park, and is concerned the police don’t want to enforce ordinances there. Thermopolis FFA Alumni, friends and family gathered at the Hot Springs County Fair Building on Saturday night to honor AG Citizens and AG Businesses of the Year during the Harvest Moon Ball. The Thermopolis Airport had a small hand in helping with the fires near Dubois as FBO Nate Messenger reported to the county commissioners on Tuesday that one of the planes fighting the fires fueled up at our airport. Messenger said the fuel truck the pilot was expecting was about five hours behind schedule and he needed to get on scene as quickly as possible and chose our airport to refuel before heading back to the fire. Two subjects are facing drug-related charges following a stop and subsequent search of the vehicle they were in on Sept. 30. According to court documents, a Thermopolis Police officer was notified that subjects had checked out of a hotel room and left needles behind. The officer initiated a traffic stop based on the suspicious activity, as well as the vehicle having no front license plate and two of its three taillights not working. Schools across the Cowboy State received the results of the new Wyoming Test of Proficiency and Progress (WY-TOPP) recently, a new testing method for our students that replaces the PAWS testing of the past. Anne Marie Rudman, 89, passed away September 23, 2018, at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland, Wyo. She was born July 25, 1929, in Czechoslovakia. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Franz. She spent 20 years in Wyoming, with 8 years at the Wyoming Pioneer Home and t10 years at Worland Healthcare. She was an excellent homemaker including cooking and sewing. Anne was of the Catholic faith. The T-Town Crusaders are gearing up for what promises to be a fun night with a Hags and Bags Purse Auction, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13. The auction will be held at the VFW with dinner from 6-7 p.m., a nacho bar and dessert, with the auction beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 with just 120 available for purchase. The Thermopolis Middle School football team travelled to play at Lovell last Saturday, coming away with a 38-20 win.
