    The Hot Springs County Clerk’s office has now issued official results from the August 20 Primary Election. There were 1,748 total ballots cast in the county, 1,593 Republican, 105 Democrat, 50 non-partisan and 2 blank ballots. In the Hot Springs County Commissioner race, Bob Aguiar received the most votes on the four-person republican primary ballot with 528. Phillip Scheel received 428 votes, Mike Chimenti received 337 votes and Joe Martinez received 251 votes. No democrat candidates appeared on the ballot. Aguiar will advance to the general e...

    On August 24 at the Hot Springs County Historical Museum, committee member Ray Shaffer announced that the 2024 inductees of the Hall of Fame. The five plaques will be displayed in the HSC Courthouse.     At the August 20 Hot Springs County Travel & Tourism board held at Pinnacle Bank, the board made a motion and seconded to hire Angie Guyon as the new Tourism Director. Her contract is going to a lawyer for review then it will be signed by all parties within one week from the time of the meeting. The previous tourism director was Jackie Dorothy, whose contract ended this summer, and she chose to withdraw her application for the position.     Chip sealing of the $6.97 million U.S. Highway 20/Wyoming 789 highway improvement project began this week north of Thermopolis. “This work is expected to last 3-4 days,” said Wyoming Department of Transportation project engineer Lance Schatz. Next week, a subcontractor will be working at the Red Gulch bridge to remove lead based paint from girders and other parts of the bridge. “Everything will then receive new paint to extend the life of the bridge.     On August 20, Dr. Bill Williams was honored at Hot Springs Health to celebrate his retirement from being chairman of their board. Williams was first appointed to be on the board in the mid 1990s.
