    For the past several years, a number of civil actions have been heard in the Hot Springs County District Court, which pertain to a request for a land use change, which was filed by local residents, Michael and Michele Stevens.     The Hot Springs County Commissioners established fire restrictions for Hot Springs County at their meeting last Tuesday. The approved resolution states that based upon recommendations of the Hot Springs County Fire Warden, the Board of Hot Springs County Commissioners are empowered by Wyoming State Statute (W.S.S) 35-9-301 through 35-9-304 to close areas to fire when fire danger in the county is extreme because of drought, the presence of any excessive amount of flammable material or for any other sufficient reason; and the Board of Hot...

    Financial donations are being accepted to assist local ranchers in recovering from the devastating Red Canyon Fire. Donations can be taken to any Big Horn Federal Bank to be deposited in the 2025 Red Canyon Fire Fund. You can also call the local bank at 864-2156 to make an electronic payment donation. The recovery from this fire will take many years. Miles of fence has to be rebuilt and water sources for livestock need to be redeveloped.     The Hot Springs County High School Bobcat golf teams played host to Ten Sleep, Worland, and Lovell this past week, at their fall invite tournament. Both the Cats and the Lady Cats finished atop the leader board, in a finish that definitely sounded like a roar.
