The Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department will present the annual Independence Day fireworks show on Thursday, July 4 beginning at dark. They will light the fireworks off from the end of the old airport runway across from the Thermopolis Golf Course along Airport Road. Red Gulch Bridge rehabilitation north of Thermopolis on U.S. Highway 20/Wyoming 789 is underway. The Thermopolis North project is located between mileposts 133.4 (the old National Guard Armory) and 139.5 (Black Mountain Road) on U.S. 20/Wyoming 789. Circus comes to town Culpepper & Merriweather will be in Thermopolis with their big tent putting on two performances at 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. The elderly population (age 65 and over) in the state grew 3.5 percent between July 2022 and July 2023, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
