    The University of Wyoming and the 4-H Extension office, along with Hot Springs County High School, will present UW Signing Day on Tuesday, May 2 at 12:30 p.m. at the high school. A university representative will be present. This event is an occasion to experience the pride of a college signing day. Students attending will be able to show their Poke Pride as they sign on as a future Wyoming Cowboy or Cowgirl.     Baylee Shaffer and Aaron Hanson were among the soloists performing at the North Big Horn Basin Music Festival, hosted in Thermopolis last week. Shaffer earned a Superior vocal rating, and Hanson earned a Superior vocal rating and an Excellent flute rating.     The Thermopolis Middle school track team saw two meets this past week, at the triangular in Worland on April 20, and a meet in Cody April 22. Coach Stephanie Czarobski reported at the triangular Wyatt McDermott broke the seventh grade boys mile record by four tenths of a second, coming in at 5:32.4 compared to the previous record of 5:32.8.     Travis McDermott and Kevin Simpson came out on top in the Two-Person Best Ball Tournament on Sunday at the Thermopolis Golf Course.     Tuesday evening, the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees approved an amendment to the capital budget.Chief Financial Officer Shelly Larson said budget amendments typically happen this time of year.     The students at Hot Springs County High School are ordering flowers, making hair appointments and renting tuxedos in preparation for Prom, set for Saturday, May 6. “The Roaring 20’s – A Secret Soiree” will begin with the Grand March at 7:30 in the auditorium. They will dance the night away from 9 p.m. until midnight on the stage of the auditorium, the “secret” that was kept under wraps until Tuesday this week.
