Bobcats finish season with big win over Pinedale

The Thermopolis Bobcat Football team finished their season off with a 54-0 win over the Pinedale Wranglers on Friday night to end things 3-5 on the year.

Comments from head coach Matt McPhie were not available at press time, however, there are some stats on various Cats that are worth mentioning for the season.

The Bobcats had the fourth highest score in 2A during their matchup against Kemmerer on September 18 with 56 points.

Roedy Farrell has had a great year, ranked number five in rushing during Week 7 against Tongue River with 187 total yards. Overall, Farrell is ranked #6 in 2A with 82.2 yards per game and six touchdowns on his record.

Jaxson Jensen was ranked #2 in punting in 2A for the game against Lyman when he booted a 63-yarder. Overall, he is ranked #7 in 2A, averaging 31.4 yards per punt. He’s also listed as #2 in kick returns with 318 yards for the season with a long run of 85 yards.

The Bobcats rank #7 in team rushing, averaging 158.1 yards per game with a total of 1,107 yards for the season.

They are also #10 with their passing game averaging 84.6 passing yards per game for 592 for the year. Quarterback Gavin Shumway scores a 96.0 in effectiveness.

On the offensive side of the ball the Cats are ranked #12 with a total of 1699 yards, averaging 242.7 per game.

Rush defense sits in the #8 slot averaging 136.1 yards per game along with 10 fumble recoveries. They also hold the #10 slot in their passing defense with 792 yards on the season with 11 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

The team is ranked #9 in team defense, averaging 22.4 points per game and a total of 1745 defensive yards for the year.

With overall play, Bobcat Eli McCumber finds himself ranked #30 as a defensive player, averaging 12.7 points per game with 54 tackles and three sacks for his record.

Logan Cole comes in at #37, averaging 11.6 points per game with 39 tackles under his belt along with two sacks.

Finishing up is Farrell who is ranked #50 overall with 9.7 points per game and 39 tackles.
