Bobcat golf underway

Hot Springs County High School’s golf team is ready to get underway with new head coach, Brandon Deromedi.

“We are very excited to begin our fall season,” Deromedi said. “Golf is unique in that we start practices and three days later we will be at our very first tournament. This is a common theme for golf as the fall season is only six weeks in length.”

Deromedi said he has a very talented group of young players that he has high expectations for this fall season.

“Our boys team returns all players from last year and adds three incoming freshman and an upperclassman,” he said. “I expect the boys side will be competitive to gain those five varsity spots to compete for the repeat as state champions.”

On the girls side, however, Maddie Stam once again holds strong as the Cats only female golfer.

“She has worked very hard on her game and I expect big things from her this fall,” Deromedi said.

All things considered, Deromedi is hoping the team can continue to improve each and every golfer’s game by evaluating and improving their weaknesses while also maintaining and improving on their strengths.

The fall season begins August 12 and ends September 21. They will compete in tournaments in Powell/Cody, Worland, Buffalo, Riverton, Moorcroft/Lusk and again at Lusk for the State Tournament.
