The Bobcats and Lady Cat track teams competed in Shoshoni on Tuesday, April 15 and both teams put in a remarkable effort. While the Bobcats finished in first place in the team standings with a combined score of 287 (more than one hundred points higher than second place Kemmerer), the Lady Cats finished second to Kemmerer, with a team score of 69. Thermopolis Wrestling Club ended their regular season last weekend at the Kids/16U State Championship held in Casper. Five wrestlers,Gabriel Ryan, Hayden Robinson, Hailey Robinson, Briar Lahoe and Jesalyn Blair, placed first in all three styles, earning them Triple Crown titles. Although they were to have kicked off the spring campaign in Worland on April 4, that tournament was canceled by uncooperative weather. Last Saturday, the Thermoplis Middle School track team competed in the Shoshoni Junior High Invite. The junior high division made up of 7th and 8th graders while 6th graders competed in the youth divisions. The junior high girls team placed 11th out of 16 teams with 20 points and the junior high boys placed 5th out of 17 teams with 43 points. The youth boys team was 13th out of 18 teams with 15 points and the girls youth team scored 16 points to put them in 11th place among 18 teams. On Monday, April 7, Hot Springs County High School senior Tymber Eckley, top, signed her commitment to join the Livestock Judging Team at Casper College. Tymber received a full-ride scholarship to CC and has been judging livestock since she was nine years old. The Hot Springs County High School track teams were in full swing last week with meets at Natrona County High School in Casper on Thursday and in Greybull on Saturday. In Casper, Thermopolis joined twelve other schools in a long day of track and field events. Hot Springs County High School senior Logan Dafoe was recently appointed to the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Following graduation in May, Logan will head to New York this summer to join the Corp of Cadets, as a member of the Class of 2029, and will commence his Plebe year at the Academy. The Town of Thermopolis was loaded with travelers this past weekend, folks who had come from all around the state to attend the Thermopolis Wrestling Club's annual wrestling tournament. The Wrestle-opolis event is one of the largest under 16 tournaments in Wyoming and was held at Hot Springs High School on Friday and Saturday last week.
