The Bobcat and Lady Cat track teams were in Shoshoni last weekend to compete in the Class 2A West Regional Tournament. Both teams performed exceptionally well, with the boys team finishing the event as regional champions. Qualifying members of the Thermopolis Middle School track team attended the Best of the Best track meet in Lander last Tuesday. 37 area middle schools sent athletes to the culminating event for the middle school season. In the seventh grade boys, Trenton Enis finished 4th in the 400 meter dash (1:03.50), 20th in the triple jump (29-7) and 26th in the long jump (13-7). The Hot Springs County High School Bobcats golf teams traveled to Wright last weekend, to compete in the 2A Spring Championships. With some great golf played by both the girls and the boys, both teams came away with a championship. Two falls ago, the Lady Cats won the state championship in golf for the first time, in a long time. The 2025 USA Wrestling Western Regional Championships took place May 9–10 at the Zions Bank Real Academy, bringing together 1,886 athletes from across the western United States. The Bobcats and Lady Cat track teams hosted the Bobcat Invite on Friday, May 8. With the sun shining, the sky blue, and a light breeze, it was a perfect day for the event. Teams from 23 schools made the trek to Thermopolis. The grand weather and the volunteers who worked the event in numbers too many to count made the day a huge success. Thermopolis Middle School boys and girls track teams competed at the Lander Invite last weekend with six other schools. The sixth grade girls team place 6th with 48.5 points and the sixth grade boys place 5th with 40 points. Both of the teams have enjoyed successes this spring, and the meet in Buffalo proved to be more of the same. Thermopolis Middle School boys and girls track teams competed last weekend at the Greybull Middle School Invitational. Of the eight teams in attendance, both the seventh grade girls team and the seventh grade boys teams took home first place. The girls team scored 163 points, more than double the points scored by second place Greybull with 70 points. Following up their wildly successful Wrestle-Opolis event, the Thermopolis Wrestling Club (TWC) took 32 wrestlers to the USA Wrestling sponsored state tournament in Casper on April 11-13. Thermopolis Wrestling Club ended their regular season last weekend at the Kids/16U State Championship held in Casper. Five wrestlers,Gabriel Ryan, Hayden Robinson, Hailey Robinson, Briar Lahoe and Jesalyn Blair, placed first in all three styles, earning them Triple Crown titles. Last Saturday, the Thermoplis Middle School track team competed in the Shoshoni Junior High Invite. The junior high division made up of 7th and 8th graders while 6th graders competed in the youth divisions. The junior high girls team placed 11th out of 16 teams with 20 points and the junior high boys placed 5th out of 17 teams with 43 points. On Monday, April 7, Hot Springs County High School senior Tymber Eckley, top, signed her commitment to join the Livestock Judging Team at Casper College. Tymber received a full-ride scholarship to CC and has been judging livestock since she was nine years old.
