    by Karissa Nichols After a tough week 4 for the Lady Cats, they ended week 5 with a win for Freshman through Varsity in Wind River against the Lady Cougars. Thursday evening the Lady Cats battled it out in a conference match against the Lady Worland Warriors but fell short in 4 games to finish off the night. Scores against the Lady Warriors were 14-25, 25-19, 17-25 and 18-25.     Thermopolis hosted the Bobcat Invitational Cross Country meet at the Thermopolis Golf Course on Friday, September 22. Teams from Thermopolis, Wyoming Indian School and St. Stephens competed on a day which started out somewhat cool and cloudy, but in which the heavens came through, with sunshine all around during the four event meet.     The Thermopolis High School Golf Team headed to Newcastle last Thursday to compete in the 2023 Class 2A State Golf Tournament. The event was hosted by Upton High School on September 15 and 16. Thirty six holes were played over the two day tournament. At state, each team is allowed up to five players on each of the boys and girls teams, with team scores determined by the best three players on the girls team, and the best four players on the boys team.     Hot Springs County High School cross county competed at the Chief Nation Invitational meet last Saturday in Ethete. The girls team was led by Jayda Griffin’s time of 24:14.43, earring her a 12th place finish. Sadie Martinez had a time of 26:59.06 followed by Ava Dafoe at 28:17.64. For the boys, Jadeth Elder completed the 5,000 meter run in 18:35.84, coming in at 7th place.     The Bobcat varsity football team fell to #2 Mountain View last week in a final conference game score of 14-0. This week they will be traveling to Rich County, Utah to play on Friday with kick off at 4 p.m. Other homecoming activities include dress up days at each school, hall decorating and a dodgeball tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 26 beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The team started the season competing in the Powell Fall Invite on August 10-11.
