The cold weather may greatly be limiting possibilities for outdoor weekend activities, but the Hot Springs County 4-H is planning an indoor carnival to not only raise money but also provide community members an afternoon of fun. Richard Keyhoe Wayman, 49 was arrested earlier this week on felony charges for writing a check with non-sufficient funds to pay for cattle. Wayman, from Hyattville, was brokering a deal for the cattle from a Hot Springs County rancher. Wyoming unemployment rate has increased to 4.1% in November, from the previous month of October which was at 4% according to the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. This is slightly lower number than the 4.3% that was recorded last November. This is still significantly lower than the U.S. unemployment rate of 5%, last year it was 5.8%. The Master Gardeners of Thermopolis will be holding a seed saving workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 12 from 5-6 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Library. The workshop will introduce participants to the art of saving and harvesting seeds from your backyard garden. Bighorn Bowhunters had an archery shoot this last weekend at the fair grounds. The fundraising event had 80 shooters. A 3-D range was set up in the multipurpose building and standard 2-D targets in the fair building.
