    On July 22, United States District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl dismissed a federal lawsuit filed by Equality State Policy Center, through its attorney Marc Elias, against Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray challenging Wyoming House Bill 156, which requires proof of United States citizenship and proof of Wyoming residency to register to vote. “I’m extremely pleased with the court’s ruling granting our motion to dismiss this outrageously wrong lawsuit,” Secretary Gray said. “This is a huge win for the people of Wyoming.     The Gift of the Waters Historical Indian Pageant Parade is set for August 2 at 10 a.m., and the Thermopolis Chamber of Commerce is looking for parade entries.     Starting July 26, the Thermopolis Farmers Market will be participating in Harvest Bucks, a granted program through Centsible Nutrition from the Farm Credit Services Agency.     The Thermopolis Town Council met for its second monthly meeting on July 15. Minutes were approved, as was the budget resolution. Mayor Estenson awarded two community members with the Thermopolis Police Department Life Saving award: Thermopolis Police Department Animal Patrol and Emergency Communication Officer Grace Wagstaff, and Thermopolis citizen Harmony Starline.     The Hot Springs County Commissioners met last Tuesday to deal with a small but substantial agenda, with the most important item being the approval of the fiscal year budget. With one final plea from the local 4-H group and another from a community member, the budget for the year was approved. Final budget numbers will be printed once they are available.     A lively and festive weekend hit Thermopolis with Wyoming Discovery Days in the park and Big Music in a Small Town at the Thermopolis Golf Course.     The Gift of the Waters Pageant celebrates the signing of the treaty, which set aside Hot Springs State Park. The pageant is always held the first weekend in August.     On Tuesday, July 2, local resident, Cody Stewart, 36, appeared before the District Court in Thermopolis. The case was set for a Sentencing Hearing before District Judge Bill Simpson. Rather than appear in person at the court in Thermopolis, Stewart chose to appear by video link from her attorney’s office in Worland.
