The Wyoming Office of Tourism has released this year’s traveling sticker campaign, featuring four regional stickers as well as an eclipse sticker. The four regions include Salt to Stone, Rockies to Tetons, Black to Yellow and the one we are included in, Park to Park. Visitors in the state will be able to pick up a sticker for that particular region at Visitors Centers and Chambers of Commerce in the area they’re visiting. High water due to recent snow melt runoff in the Wind River has resulted in the closure of campsites at the Boysen State Park Tough Creek Campground. A set of closures of U.S. 20/Wyoming 789 Wednesday and Thursday in Wind River Canyon are intended to help a contractor successfully and safely bring a large rock off the canyon wall to the edge of the highway. It seems when the temperatures rise, so do the number of calls to the Thermopolis Police Department in regard to nuisance yards. Police Chief Steve Shay said when such calls come in the first response is to go to the yard in question, to determine if it does qualify as a nuisance under the town code. In a case against Justin Spence, who was found guilty of incest on April 27, a motion has been filed for a new trial. According to the charge, on July 4 or 5, 2014, Spence molested a juvenile female. Wyoming Whiskey has made the top three list of the “Best of the Best” in Esquire magazine’s best whiskeys in the country. First on the list is Westland, out of Seattle, Wash., founded in 2010. On June 9 in Buffalo, at the Wyoming Stock Growers Association Spring Convention, Jim Mischke was presented with his award as Outstanding Range Professional. May saw a change in staff at the Hot Springs County Senior Citizens Center, Lisa Pierce took over as director. Outgoing director Chanda Waddell, who moved to Indiana, worked at the facility through May. Pierce said she was lucky to have Waddell stay for those weeks, to help her get accustomed to everything before June 1.
