    Daniel Webber has announced to the Hot Springs County Republican Central Committee that he intends to file for election to the office of county assessor. He has worked in the assessor’s office since December of 2004, serving as assessor since January 2018 when he was appointed to the position.     At a special meeting of the Hot Springs County School District Board of Trustees Monday night, the resignation of Laurie Graves, Ralph Witters Elementary principal was accepted. “I have had truly mixed emotions,” Graves said. “It took a lot of time to make this decision.” Graves will be taking a principal’s position at Meadowlark Elementary in Buffalo.     During the regular monthly meeting of Hot Springs Travel and Tourism, Director Amanda Moeller reported they had received another high deposit of lodging tax receipts for the 2017-18 fiscal year. The May deposit was $12,890.73, compared to $7,913.54 this time last fiscal year. The deposit put the receipts for the fiscal year at five percent, or $8,460.29, higher than this time last year.     During a recent meeting of the Thermopolis Town Council, Travel and Tourism Director Amanda Moeller said she did some paperwork for the State of Wyoming a couple months ago regarding opportunity zones, noting the town of Thermopolis was recommended by the governor to be such a zone.     Monday in Hot Springs District Court, Holly Herrera was sentenced to three to five years in prison on each of three counts of child endangerment — exposure to methamphetamine — and one year on a charge of second-offense possession of methamphetamine.     The body of 66-year-old David E. Cathey was found at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 in the Sand Draw area around Gebo.     The Wyoming Highway Patrol has released the names of those involved in a fatality crash near milepost 26 on Highway 120 on Tuesday, May 8. According to the report, the victims in the incident are 18-year-old Kolten S. Moss of Laramie, and 75-year-old Ib R. Jensen and 72-year-old Elsebeth F. Jensen of Cannes, France.     Tuesday evening at the Thermopolis Town Council meeting, Travel and Tourism Director Amanda Moeller presented a report on how Hot Springs County did in 2017.
