    Hot Springs County Public Health will be holding a drive thru flu clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds, 1213 Springview St. Signs will be posted for traffic flow.   • Grizzly bear killings investigated

    CODY- The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is assisting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service with two investigations involving conflicts between hunters and grizzly bears. On the evening of Sept. 24, a man who was hunting for elk in the Thorofare was attacked and injured by a grizzly bear. He was airlifted to a local hospital where he received treatment.   • Restrictions on restaurants loosened

    CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon has worked with the Wyoming Department of Health to ease restrictions on restaurants in the state while continuing efforts to keep the public safe. This comes in new public health orders. The changes to Health Order No. 1 no longer require restaurants to space out seating in booths and increases the permitted number of persons at a table from 6 to 8 persons.     Last week Hot Springs County School District (HSCSD) reported their first positive case of COVID-19 in a letter sent out to parents and guardians of Ralph Witters Elementary students. The letter from Superintendent of Schools Dustin Hunt, dated Thursday, Sept. 17, says that “an individual (s) within the school has been diagnosed with COVID-19.” Then on Sunday, Sept. 20, an email was sent out by Hot Springs County High School (HSCHS) Principal Breez Daniels stating “an indivdual (s) within HSCHS tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, Sept....

    During the September Travel and Tourism meeting for September, Matt Hughes, Treasurer reported that he changed the format of the financial reports and reduced redundant work in order to aid efficiency and times saving measures. The board already receives data from their account at Koerwitz et al. and they no longer have to recreate the reports. In fact, according to the United States Drought Monitor, many areas actually got worse.     A slow down in aerial spraying created a slight dip in fuel sales at the Hot Springs County Airport during August according to FBO Nate Messenger.
