Wyoming’s current public health orders will be extended through July 31 as the state continues to see increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases, Governor Mark Gordon announced Monday. He stated that over the past 14 days, Wyoming has averaged 27 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 per day, with 342 new cases confirmed since July 1. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking information on a buck mule deer that was illegally shot and left to waste near Worland. Worland Game Warden Matt Lentsch began an investigation after receiving a report earlier this week about a headless deer found by anglers on the Bighorn River near the bridge over Fifteen Mile Creek southwest of Worland. According to reports, the caller insists that the customer is behind on their bill and demands payment within 30 minutes to avoid disconnection. The Hot Springs County School District has decided to move ahead with a daycare facility for use by district employees starting this fall. In a special meeting last Thursday, Superintendent Dustin Hunt informed the board, with three different scenarios available for the start of the 2020-21 school year, now is the time to begin an in-house daycare for teachers and staff. On Saturday, June 27 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Amanda Hicks, of Worland, lost control of her vehicle at milepost 145 on US 20 (two miles north of Kirby). The vehicle Hicks was driving rolled over at least two times and came to rest on its passenger's side blocking both lanes of travel. Hicks had left Thermopolis earlier with her two dogs.
