At last Tuesday’s Hot Springs County Commissioners board meeting, Brian Clarkson of Ardurra (formerly T-O Engineers) gave the Geographic Information System (GIS) update. Clarkson said that they have scanned more septic permit documents, processed and uploaded septic permit files from 1982 to 1983 to cloud storage, and added septic permit information to the online GIS database. On March 3 at approximately 7 p.m. the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department (TVFD) was dispatched to Sunnyview Drive for a reported structure fire. Firefighters arrived to find an active fire burning on the outside deck of a single-family dwelling. The fire extended into the interior of the structure. Firefighters attacked and extinguished the fire. Fire crews returned to the scene throughout the following hours to ensure the fire did not re-ignite.
