    Bryce Harvey and Dylan Shaffer move a bench which was dedicated to the late Peggy Shaffer. Peggy Shaffer was a Hot Springs County native from 1946 to 2012. Britton Van Heule said the Ag students at Hot Springs County High School built the bench after Ed Schaffer asked him to do so.     After weeks of clouds and rain, the sun came up Saturday to shine on the Thermopolis Golf Club for the three-person scramble.     Young ladies from Wyoming and surrounding states will be participating in the Third Annual Connie Combs Barrel Racing Clinic this weekend at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. World champion barrel racer and seven-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier, Combs is the only person to win the WPRA World Championship on a stallion.     Hot Springs County 4-H held their annual presentation contest last Friday at the Hot Springs County Extension office. Ten youngsters participated in the event including three in the senior division, two in the intermediate division, four juniors and one Cloverbud.     Final numbers have been released from Hot Springs County School District No. 1, showing a decrease in enrollment from the end of the year, 2014 to the end of the year, 2015. While overall the decrease is just five students, a few of the classes showed large losses. From the end of the year in 2014 to the end of this school year, the sixth grade class lost a total of 18 students. The senior class showed a loss of 10 students, and the fourth grade lost 11.     Pheasants Forever will be having their annual banquet Saturday, May 30 starting at 5 p.m. in the Hot Springs County Fair Building.     Local runners will compete with Hot Spring County’s largest residents during the Running with the Buffalo event Saturday, May 30 beginning at 7:30 a.m. The race will start on the street outside the TePee Pool and runners will trek through the buffalo pasture and back towards the start.     The Hot Springs County Conservation District gave fourth graders Eastern Redcedar trees as a way to promote conservation.     The inaugural Red Nose Day in the United States will be Thursday, May 21 and Days Inn Thermopolis will be participating to help feed the hungry. Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign thrown by the nonprofit organization Comic Relief. In the UK, Red Nose Day has been going for 30 years.
