Pallet painting party set for June 13

The Smoking Waters Art Guild is hosting a pallet painting party June 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., by City Rags located at 444 Broadway.  According to stroll organizer Toddi Darlington, the Big Horn Basin Folk Festival is in need of pallets to be used as festival area dividers.

“We thought it would be fun to invite the public, especially children, to stop by and paint a pattern on a pallet”. Wear your painting clothes and come paint a pallet during Still Strolling Saturday. If you’d like to paint a pallet to keep, just sign your name on the back of your pallet, then stop by at the end of the Big Horn Basin Folk Festival and buy your pallet or any remaining pallets for a $20 donation per pallet. Proceeds support other art activities, held in conjunction with the Second Friday ArtStrolls and Still Strolling Saturday.

The guild is also asking for donations of outdoor paint, paint brushes, rollers and mixing trays. Please bring your paint to City Rags Saturday morning on June 13. For more information, contact Darlington at 921-4640.

The Big Horn Basin Folk Festival is part of the Kiwanis Trading Post and Gift of the Waters Pageant Days, held each year in Hot Springs State Park the first weekend in August. This year’s Pageant Days will be August 1 & 2.
